Pg 2Evoline Eivins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smith, was born in Grant county, Indiana, Aug. 18, 1841. She died Feb. 14, 1924 at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to John Eivins Jan. 18, 1859 at Lancaster, Mo. Mr. Eivins preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss, her twelve children: James M. of Salem, S. D., Benjamin of Mullins, Nebr.; Mrs. Frank Bates, Caroline, Alice, Elbertia, John, Kimer, William and Wesley, all of Macksburg; Richard of Kent and Isaac of Hebron; also 20 grandchildren and – great grandchildren. Mrs. Eivins has lived to a good old age and is the last of her people. She lived in Madison county about 58 years. She was a member of the Methodist church of Macksburg.
Funeral services were held there on Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Kelly, pastor of that church, and burial was made at Macksburg.
