Miss Jennie Decker, a former resident of Winterset, and a sister of Mrs. George Garner died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 14th at 3:30 o’clock at her home in Des Moines, after a few days serious illness, at the age of 67 years. She was stricken last Wednesday noon with paralysis, from which she never recovered.

Miss Decker was raised in this county, near Peru and over 30 years ago, moved to Winterset, where she lived for six or seven years. Since that time she has resided in Des Moines, where she has kept a rooming house.

The body was brought to Winterset Tuesday morning and funeral services were held that afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. S. A. Gillett officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Miss Jennie Decker was born at Burlington, Iowa, Jan. 17, 1855 and was struck down with paralysis on Wednesday, Oct. 10th at Des Moines, at which place she has lived for the past 30 years. She is sorrowed by two sisters and three brothers: James Decker and Sarah Porter of Peru, Anthony Decker of Oklahoma, Ella Garner of Winterset and M. S. Decker, who has lived with her for some 29 years. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 1923.

She was a kind and loving sister and will not be soon forgotten.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Winterset on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Stanley A. Gillett, pastor of the Baptist church, and the body was interred in the cemetery at Winterset.
