Two Deaths and Three Accidents Sadden Homes In This Community.

A series of casualties occurred in this community, bringing death or critical injuries to several persons.

Mrs. Warren Iler, 68 years of age, took her life by hanging early on Monday morning. For fifteen years, her health had been poor and despondency over that fact is believed to be the reason for her act. Mrs. Iler, who was Miss Amanda Silverthorne before her marriage, lived northwest of Macksburg. Her husband survives.

Funeral services were held at Macksburg Methodist church this afternoon and the body was brought to Winterset cemetery for burial.

Amanda Silverthorn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Silverthorn was born in Muscatine county, Iowa, Aug. 15, 1854 and departed this life at her home near Macksburg, May 28, 1923, at the age of 68 years, 9 months and ----days. She was united in marriage to Warren Iler, Feb. 12, 1888 at Hebron, Nebr. To this union was born one child who died in infancy. She was one of a family of seven children, three of whom have preceded her to the land of rest and leaves to mourn her departure her loving husband and three brothers, D. A. Silverthorn, O. D. and E. R. Silverthorn and a host of relatives and friends. She was loved by all who knew her and always ready to sacrifice for those in need. She united with the Wilson M. E. church many years ago and remained a member of that church until called to the Church beyond.

Services were conducted at the Macksburg M. E. church conducted by Rev. A. R. Weed. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
