George N. Fredrickson, an old resident of Madison county, who had spent fifty six years within its borders, died on Saturday, May 5. He had a stroke of paralysis a week ago, which caused his death.

Mr. Fredrickson and family have lived in Winterset for nearly twenty years, moving here from Monroe township. He was highly respected by his friends and lived a quiet, helpful life devoted to his family.

Rev. D. J. Shenton conducted funeral services on Monday at the Methodist church.

George N. Fredrickson was born in Pellworn, ermany in 1845 and passed away at his home in Winterset, May 5, 1923. He was a member of the Lutheran church from childhood.

e came to the United State in 1866, and lived in Davenport, Iowa, one year; coming to Madison county in 1867, where he has since made his home.
He was married to Mary Amelia Lorenzen, March 8,1871. To this union were born three children: Oscar Fredrickson of Peru, John M. Fredrickson and Mrs. Clarence Macumber of Winterset.

Mr. Fredrickson and wife moved from their farm in Monroe township to Winterset in 1904, where they have resided ever since. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, one sister, Mrs. F.M. Homan of Des Moines, his three children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. D.J. Shenton, in charge.
