Word has been received of the death of Lesly Cunningham, a former Winterset resident. He was born on March 24, 1915, in Winterset to Clint C. and Bessie Blair Cunningham, and attended Winterset schools. He served in the Air Force for three years during World War II, working his way from private to sergeant. Lesly was a 44-year resident of California, where he married Gladys Barthol at Montebello, Calif., on March 22, 1946.

Mr. Cunningham died on Jan. 31, at Palm Springs Health Care Convalescent Home in Palm Springs, Calif., after a lengthy illness. Burial was at Mountain Valley Memorial park in Joshua Tree, Calif., where he had made his home for the past 12 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Roy, a brother, Paul, who died in infancy, and a sister, Alice Gregg. He is survived by his wife Gladys, of Joshua Tree, Calif.
