CHARLES (CHUCK) DUANE YETTER, Adel

Chuck Yetter, 79, died at his home on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Ave, Des Moines with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Iles Funeral Homes- Westover Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m.

Chuck was born in Winterset, Iowa to Lester and Clara Johnson Yetter. Chuck worked in truck sales until his retirement in 2000. He and his wife, Rosemary own Circle Y Farms, Inc. in Adel, Iowa. They are members of the Horsemen Breeders Protection Association and the Iowa Thoroughbred Breeders Association. Chuck bred, raised and raced thoroughbreds in 11 states for the past 42 years. Chuck was instrumental in helping pass the bill for parimutuel betting in Iowa.

He will be missed by his wife, Rosemary of Adel; daughter, Jane (Roger) Hargens of Johnston; sons, Patrick of Altoona and Benjamin (Tammy) of Ankeny; granddaughters, Carey (Curt) Verschuure of Cumming, Amanda Hargens of Johnston, Adelina Hargens of Johnston, MacKailey Yetter of Ankeny, Madison Yetter of Ankeny and Anorrea Hargens of Johnston and a sister, Mary Vance of Roseville, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Henry Rockwell City, IA; brother, Delbert of Austin, TX; son, Charlie Mike and grandsons, Jeremy Hargens and Ryan Hargens.
