October 29, 2010Alene Applegate, who was born on October 21, 1916 in Royal, IA, passed away on October 22, 2010 in Winterset, IA. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., with Funeral Services on Saturday at 11 a.m., both at Ernst Funeral Home of Waukee. Interment to follow at Waukee Cemetery.
Alene is survived by her children, Dick (Judy) Applegate, Barb (Mike) Ridgway, Bev (Jim) Coryea, Randy (Gwen) Applegate, Beth (Bill) Thede and Scott Applegate; sister, Dorthory Runolfson; daughter-in-law, Janet Applegate; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford and son, Bob Applegate.
