Services for Gertrude Lucille Conrad, 86, Earlham, who died Sept. 4 at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset, were held Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Earlham Friends Church at Earlham with the Rev. Eldon Cole officiating. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.
Born Oct. 2, 1902 in Dallas County, she was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Curts. She attended Bear Creek Country School and Earlham High School. She was married to Leon Conrad Aug. 24, 1921 and most of her married life was spent on their farm northeast of Earlham.
She was a member of the Earlham Friends Church and was active for many years as a pianist and choir member. She was also a member of Cosmopolitan Club, Sunshine Circle, Garden Club and United Society of Friends Women.
For the past year and a half, she was a resident of Bethesda.
Survivors include a sister, Almeda Mapes of rural Earlham.
