Tuesday, March 21, 1978Laura May Manny, 89, Evangelical Free Church Home, died at the Boone County Hospital, Tuesday, March 21, 1978. She was born Aug. 1, 1888 in Peru, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Austin B. Gray.
She taught in many Boone and Des Moines schools, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was involved in church groups and activities, 50 year member of O.A.S. Maji Chapter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. M. L. (Evelyn) VanDreser, Pleasanton, Calif., Mrs. G. W. (Lois) Ostrand, Jr., Rolling Meadows, Ill., five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Glenn (Eva) Peterson, Boone.
Services will be Thursday, March 23, 1978, at 10:30 a.m. at Stark - Welin Chapel with Dr. Carl E. Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday at the Stark - Welin Chapel from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 until the time of the service.
