November 26, 1979Eva E. Peterson, 85, of the Evangelical Free Church Home, died Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Boone County Hospital. She formerly lived at 700 Crawford and had been in the Boone County Hospital since November 14.
She was born Feb. 22, 1894 in East Peru, Iowa, the daughter of Austin Gray and Amelia Stevens Gray. She married Glenn Peterson on Aug. 3, 1924, in Boone.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Boone Garden Club, the Twenty Planters Club and the Maji Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one nephew, William Gray of Washington, D.C., four nieces, Mrs. Evelyn Manny VanDresen, Pleasanton, Calif., Lois Manny Ostrand, Rolling Meadows, Ill., Mildred Gray and Ann Gray Benson of Washington, D.C.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Stark - Welin Funeral Chapel with Dr. Carl Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Stark - Welin Funeral Chapel on Monday from 4 - 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
