PHYLLIS ANN (MOORE) JONES, Humeston

Phyllis fought a courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer finally succumbing to it October 14, 2010 in the comforts of the Bright Kavanagh House and her family.

A mother like no other with a zest for living till the end, her passion was to live, to laugh and to love and we will all miss that smile!

Phyllis was born on November 17, 1936 and grew up in Winterset, IA near the Holliwell covered bridge. She moved to Des Moines and married Bill Jones where they raised three children.

Phyllis was involved and active in many civic duties, she held offices in many of the clubs, organizations and committees as well as being active with her church while in Humeston, IA.

Surviving include children: Trudy (Rich) Tait, Jim (Joni) Jones, Jane (Lee) Viggers. Grandchildren and Step Grandchildren: Richard JR (Amanda) Tait, Joshua (Jennifer) Tait, Mackenzie Jones, Mackayla Jones, John (Samantha Erickson)Viggers, Jim (Teresa) Viggers. Great Grandchildren and Step Great Grandchildren: Montanna Tait, Jacob, Amanda, Austin, Dalton Viggers.

Siblings: Harriet Hemingson, Bob (Virginia) Moore, Margaret Harper, Joseph Moore, Larry (Kelly) Moore and many nephews, nieces and friends. Preceded in death are: Her parents, Husband Bill and Brother George

A viewing at McLarens Funeral Chapel, 801-19th street, West Des Moines will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorial donations will be used toward projects in Humeston, IA.
