ROBERT E. HUNTER , West Des Moines

Robert E. Hunter, age 87, died at Arbor Springs Care Center in West Des Moines on Friday October 15, 2010.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Kuhn Funeral Homes in Earlham with burial in the Earlham Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday October 18, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Robert owned and operated the Hunter Motor Company in Earlham until his retirement in 1979. He was a 50 year member of the ZA GA ZIG Shrine in Altoona and a WW II Army Veteran. Robert is survived by his wife Shirley Hunter of Des Moines; son William W. Hunter and wife Fay of Earlham; daughter Shelley Towles and husband Warren of Des Moines; son John Hunter and wife Helen Grace of Souix Falls, SD; two grandchildren: Mollie Jarvis and husband Jason and Noah Hunter and wife Sandra; and 1 great grandchild Keelan Hunter. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Hunter. Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Earlham Presbyterian Church.
