J. DALE HAM, WINTERSET

J. Dale Ham, 80, of Winterset died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Memorial services were Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. The body has been cremated with the cremains being interred at the Winterset Cemetery.

Dale was born on Nov. 6, 1929, in Madison County to Jesse and Bertha (Nelson) Ham. He was a lifetime resident of Winterset and Madison County. Dale graduated from Winterset High School in 1947 and in the early 1950s served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married on March 29, 1953, in Winterset to Beverly Jane Foster. During his lifetime Dale had been an auto mechanic at the former Mills Motors in Winterset, and later worked as a custodian for the Winterset school system.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gailen Ham.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Winterset; a brother, Ivan Ham of Winterset; and nieces and nephews.

Memorials given to the family will be directed to V.F.W. Post #8142 or the American Legion Post #184, both of Winterset.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
