Page 1Frank Emory Nicholson was born in DeSoto, Iowa, Feb. 26, 1876 and died at his home on West Green street in Winterset, Iowa, Nov. 6, 1913, aged 37 years, 8 months and 9 days. At the age of three years he moved with his parents to Winterset which was his home until his death.
He was a graduate of the Winterset high school in the class of 1895. He then took up the study of law in the State University of Iowa, and was admitted to the bar at Winterset in 1897 at the age of 21 years. He was united in marriage to Miss Addie Schoenenberger of Winterset, in the year 1898 and to this union was born one child, Mary.
He was converted and gave his heart to God in the year 1893 and united with the Baptist church of Winterset of which he was a member until his death.
He leaves to mourn his death his mother, a devoted wife and daughter, three brothers, Claude, of Des Moines, Joseph, of Tacoma, Wash., and Lyle, of Winterset, one sister, Mrs. Dr. J. W. Bunker, of this city, and a host of friends.
Emory was one of the active and well known attorneys of Winterset. He possessed more than average ability as a lawyer. He stood well with the members of the Winterset bar and he was a friend to everyone who knew him.
The funeral services were held from the residence last Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. S. Corkey and interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
