RUBY E. JENSEN, Winterset

Ruby E. Jensen, daughter of George P. and Eva Mae (Schad) Ahnen, was born near Fontanelle, on August 26, 1918 and died at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on July 1.

She attended school in Adair County. On December 17, 1939 she was married to Melvin Jensen in Creston, Five children were born to this union. They lived on farms in Madison and Adair counties until 1981 when they retired to Winterset. In 1989 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Jensen was a homemaker and an active member of Fairview Congregational Christian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Zella Studer and Bob of Ames, Joyce Binns and Paul of Winterset, Joanne Akin and Dale of Urbandale, Betty Lauer and Dennis of Winterset; son, Bob Jensen and Cyndi of Nevada; 12 grandchildren, one brother Vern Ahnen of Earlham and one sister Gladys Hoakinson of Creston, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Fairview Congretational Christian Church on July 3, with Rev. George Thurman officiating. Vocal selections were provided by Mrs. Jim Kalbach, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Terry Buckner. Assisting with the floral tributes were Mrs. Robert Taylor and Mrs. Arnold Lewis. Casket bearers were Bob Jensen, David Studer, Jeff Binns, Steve Lauer, Daniel Studer, Bryan Jensen, Robert Taylor and Arnold Lewis.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Adair County.
