Mrs. Robert Johnson died at the poor house, north of Winterset, Aug. 11, at the age of 73, and was buried in the Wight cemetery the next day. She was a great sufferer for many years. The last three days of her life she kept praying for the Lord to take her home out of her pain. She was the mother of Mat and Marion Johnson of Middle River, Mrs. Jim Cunningham of Webster Center and Mrs. Bert Cantenwine of Winterset.

Middle River

Mrs. Margaret Johnson died Monday at the county home and was buried Tuesday in the Wight cemetery. She is the mother of F. M. and M. J. Johnson and Mrs. James Cunningham, of this place.

Margaret Anna Bradley, daughter of John and Sarah Bradley, was born October 10, 1838 in Dearborn county, Ind., and died August 11, 1913, aged 74 years, 9 months and 27 days.

She was married to Robert Johnson in 1858 in Ohio county, Ind., and in 1860 they moved to Iowa. To them were born eleven children, four preceding her to the better world. The seven living are: Joseph M. Johnson and Mrs. James Cunningham of near Hebron; Francis M., of Middle River; Mrs. Bert Cantenwine, Webster; Silas W., Cambridge City, Ind.; S. J., Council Bluffs and Peter A., Clarinda. Twenty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one brother, George Bradley, are living in Ohio county, Ind.

She was united with the M.E. church at New Hopewell, Ind., when a young woman and she died in the same triumphant faith at the county farm near Winterset. She was buried in the Wight cemetery beside her husband who died Jan. 15, 1900.
