LYLE G. DUDNEY, Lorimor

Lyle G. Dudney, 92, of Lorimor died Sept. 18, 2010, at Winterset Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. Burial will be in the Peru Cemetery. Memorials in Lyle’s name may be directed to his family. Lyle Dudney was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Madison County to Loyd and Bernice (Seward) Dudney. He graduated from Truro High School class of 1936 and later served in the United States Army during World War II. His marriage to Helen Louise McVay took place on Aug. 30, 1941, in Albany, Mo.

Lyle was a farmer all of his life and in 1949 he and Helen purchased the farm they would call home for the next 61 years. He also drove a school bus for the Lorimor East Union School district for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; two sisters, Velda Bedwell and Vera Towne and an infant granddaughter, Charity Dudney.

He is survived by his children – Kenneth Dudney of St. Charles, Linda Stalcup of Lorimor, and Maurice Dudney of Urbandale; a sister, Nola May Robbins of Delco, ID; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
