Mrs. Joshua C. Clark died at her home on South Fourth Avenue on last Thursday, the 11th, after a two months' illness with sarcoma, cancer of the stomach.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Cyntha Thornburg, was born in this county June 14, 1852. She was married to Joshua C. Clark May 17, 1875 and had lived in this county during her entire life of a little more than sixty years.
Besides the husband, she leaves six children—five boys and one daughter, Everett, Claude, Audley, Walter, Ruth and Charles. Beside her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss, eight grand children, four brothers, William and Lewis Thornburg of Winterset, Benjamin who resides in Warren county, George Thornburg of Oakdale, Nebraska and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Tedford also of Leigh, Nebraska, all of whom were with her in her last illness except Mrs. Tedford.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ on Sunday afternoon and burial in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Cynthia Thornburg Clark died at her home, Thursday after a lingering illness, of cancer.
Mrs. Clark was one of the first white children born in Madison county and had lived here all her life, sixty years. Her family, the Thornburgs, were among the very first settlers.
She was married in 1875 to Joshua Clark. Her husband four sons and one daughter survive her. The funeral was held on Sunday.
