David Niblo

David Niblo of Mount Vernon, S. D., passed away Monday noon at the temporary residence of the family on East Jefferson street, death resulting from heart disease. Death came peacefully and painlessly. The wife, two sons, Fred and Will of Omaha, were with him when the end came. The daughter, Mrs. Carrie Sarchett of Mt. Vernon, S. D., was unable to reach here until the day following.

The deceased was born in Ireland and came to this country when a boy, living in eastern Iowa, until about fifteen years ago, when he located on a farm east of Dexter. From Dexter, the family moved to a farm near Indianola, then to Adel and finally to Mt. Vernon, S. D. He was a brother of Mrs. Wm. Reed, Robt. Niblo and Thos. Niblo, who lived in Jackson township, this county until called by death some years ago.

The funeral was held this afternoon at the United Presbyterian church and burial in the Winterset cemetery.

David R. Niblo was born in Ireland March 18, 1848, and died in Winterset, Iowa, July 15, 1912, after a lingering illness consisting for many years. He was born in a family of fifteen children, eleven of whom grew to manhood and womanhood. Two sisters, two sons, one daughter and his wife survive him. The two surviving sisters are Mrs. Catherine Lees of Providence, R. I. and Mrs. Hector Milne of Monmouth, Ill. He was united in marriage to Miss Ellen E. Sneath in 1874. The three children now living are W. J. and F. T. of Osceola, Iowa and Mrs. B. H. Sarchett of Mt. Vernon, S. D. Mr. Niblo was a man kind in his disposition, thoughtful of others welfare, tender in his affections. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church, having united with this church when he was 27 years old.

The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the relatives and those who helped in this time of sorrow.
