Baby Leon Vance

The death of little Leon Vance, the eight months old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Vance, is one of the saddest occurrences of the community for many months. During the absence of the mother from the room about nine o’clock yesterday morning, Helen, the two and a half year old sister, climbing onto a table, secured a bottle of turpentine, and removing the cork, poured a large quantity of it into the little one’s mouth. The strangling of the child called the mother, and immediately convulsions claimed the child’s body. For about three hours, they sought by every means to relieve the child and restore consciousness but with no avail.

The funeral services are to be held at 4:30 this afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. All hearts are touched in sympathy by the sad death which Mr. and Mrs. Vance are called upon to suffer.
