Death Of MRS. EMMA WILLIAMS

Following an illness of five months, Mrs. Emma Danner Williams died at her home in Des Moines on Friday morning, July 25th, 1919. Her body was brought to Winterset on the following evening, funeral services being held in the Church of Christ Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Hunter of Highland Park Church of Christ.

Mrs. Williams belonged to a pioneer family, the Danners, coming to this county in early days. She was born in Madison county and spent her life in Winterset until five years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Williams moved to Des Moines. Since girlhood she had been affiliated with the Church of Christ.

In 1896, occurred her marriage to Mr. Williams, when she assumed charge of his young daughter, now Mrs. Squire Howell, to whom she gave such care and affection as is rendered by mothers to their own children. The ties between the two have always been of the greatest intimacy and in that lingering illness that proved fatal, the daughter returned loyally the devoted service given her in childhood by her stepmother.

Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Williams, is survived by her sisters, Mrs. J. W. Frankelberger, Mrs. Joyce Kondig, of Des Moines, Mrs. R. L. Moore, of Minnesota; also two brothers, J. M. of Salt Lake City and C. E. Danner, of Donovan, Missouri. The countless friends of the bereaved families will sorrow with them in the loss of their beloved one.
