OSCAR POULSON

Oscar Poulson was born in New Athens, Ohio, Dec. 8, 1852 and died in Hanley, July 29, 1914, aged 61 years, 7 months and 20 days. He moved to Jasper county, Iowa, in the fall of 1869, where he lived until about 12 years ago, when he moved to Warren county, living there a couple of years, when he moved onto a farm three miles west of Hanley, moving again into the hotel property, at Hanley a short time ago, which has since been his home.

His health began to fail about four years ago, and since that time, he has been gradually growing weaker until the end last week. Oscar was a good, honorable man, and as he had remained unmarried, lived with his parents, taking good care of them until their death some years ago, since which time, he has lived with his brother, Emmet and family, who took care of him in his last illness.

He leaves to mourn his departure three brothers and one sister, three nieces and one nephew, all of whom were here at his interment; also a cousin and her husband, Mrs. and Mr. Dereus of Ira. The elder brother, John S., lived in Altoona; Emmet S. and William M., at Hanley, and the sister at Audubon.

Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church at St. Charles, July 31st at 11 a.m. by Rev. C. K. Corkill of Lineville, after which he was laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.
