OLIVE M. WILSON

Mrs. Olive M. Silvethorne Wilson was born in Muscatine county, March 5, 1856. Died at her home near Hebron, Iowa March 25, 1914. She came to Madison county with her mother, brothers and sisters in 1870 and settled in Webster township. During the early 70s, she attended school in Winterset. For a number of years, she taught in the public schools of both Madison and Adair counties and many of her former pupils bear testimony to her helpful influence as a successful teacher.

She was married to John A. Wilson Sept. 10, 1885. To them were born five children, Mrs. Fern Foxley of Platte, S.D.; Connie B., Mabel Marie, who died at the age of three and Carl, all of Hebron.

Although in poor health for a long time, she was most thoughtful of the welfare of others, continually ministering to her loved ones in their sicknesses. In her final illness, all that medical skill and loving hearts could do, was hers, but death claimed her, who in life was a devoted wife and mother, and a true friend to all. Besides her husband and children, she leaves one sister, Mrs. J. W. Iler of Macksburg, three brothers, Oscar Silverthorne of Greenfield, Oliver of Macksburg and Ellis of Hebron.

She was a member of the Hill of Zion church and in the cemetery near by, she was laid to rest. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 29th, conducted by Rev. Millhojinnd.
