The body of J. H. Schmidt was brought here on Saturday from Des Moines, accompanied by Dan Schmidt, a son of Des Moines, and Mrs. C. A. Bennett, a daughter, of Clear Lake. The body was taken to the undertaking parlors of Tidrick-Terrill Co. and interment made Sunday in the Winterset cemetery.

As the regular funeral service had been held in Des Moines, where the deceased resided, only prayer and a few remarks were made at the grave, by Rev. Batten of the Baptist church. Mr. Schmidt and family were residents of Winterset a number of years, coming here from Osceola in the summer of 1889. While a resident of Winterset, he pursued his trade of wagon maker. Deceased was 73 years old.
