LOIS M. GEORGE, Des Moines

Lois died peacefully Thursday, June 3, 2010, in Des Moines with her family present. A memorial visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home.

Lois was born November 1, 1930, in St. Charles, IA. She grew up on the south side of Des Moines and attended Lincoln High School. Lois married Paul on August 22, 1969, and they made their home on the city's south side. She was a true business entrepreneur. She successfully created two businesses on Des Moines' south side. The first being Paul's Place and the second was In-Home Pet Care and Grooming. She truly loved her pets, which could be heard in her business slogan, "Pets are people too!" She also had worked for the county, the state, and in real estate. She continued to work until the very end.

She is survived by her husband, Paul of 41 years; sister, Barbara Powers; children, Steve (Janet) Young, Mary Moreno, and Julie (Dave) Crawford; eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mary Musselman and her sister Linda York.
