William Henry Newerf was born at Pella, Iowa, Sept. 30, 1872, and lived in Pella until he was ten years of age when his parents removed to Winterset, since which time he has continually lived here. He was married to Miss Allie Morris on Sept. 5, 1895, and to this union were born three children, Nicholas, who died in infancy; Louise, now thirteen years of age, and Earl, aged eleven. Mr. Newerf departed this life at his home at 10:23 on Sunday evening, Nov. 27, 1910, aged 38 years 1 month and 27 days.
Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn him his father, four brothers and five sisters.
“Billy” as he was familiarly known, was widely known and well liked by everybody. His cheery, happy nature made him a general favorite. Never too busy for a genial word or two and always ready to help when he could. We all mourn his loss and join our sorrow with that of the family in their sad bereavement.
The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon, services were conducted by Rev. J. S. Corkey.
