Ira D. Harrison -

Ira D. Harrison was born in Peoria county, Illinois, April 1, 1843 and died at this home in Grand River township on Nov. 22, 1910 after a short illness of inflammation of the bowels.

He was married to Ella D. Davis, on April 13, 1865 who preceded him to the Great Beyond by three years and three months.

To this union were born three children: Mrs. Olive Thomas and Guy Harrison of Macksburg and Emma Harrison of Chicago, Ill., all of whom are left to mourn his loss, together with four brothers and two sisters.

He enlisted in the U S army in 1864, and served his country faithfully until honorably discharged.

At the time of his death he was vice-president of the Macksburg National bank which office he faithfully and conscientiously filled. In his death Grand River township loses one of its best and most faithful citizens. He was ever ready to lend a helping hand and will be lovingly remembered by those to whom he extended aid in their time of need.

Two brothers, A. Harrison of Dunlap, Ill. and James Harrison of Henry, Ill., two nephews, H. and Frank Harrison of Princeville, Illinois, and one sister, Mrs. George Gregory of Ralston, Iowa were present at the funeral which was held at the home on Thursday at 2 p.m., attended by a large crowd of sympathizing friends and neighbors.
