Winterset Resident Since 1938 Was 73 Years of Age
Mrs. Ella L. Smith, a resident of Winterset since 1938, died at her home on East Jefferson street last Saturday, Aug. 30. She was 73 years of age.
Mrs. Smith was the former Ella Louise Klever, daughter of Anton and Mary Bruett Klever, and was born Feb. 20, 1874, at Wayne, Nebr.
She was married to Converse R. Smith on June 18, 1895. They were the parents of four children. Mr. Smith died in 1945.
Surviving are three sons, Norman R. Smith of Pontiac, Mich., Gail E. Smith of Inyokern, Calif., and Meredith R. Smith of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Marion Nelson of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Phelps and Mrs. Edna Schack of Jerico Spring, Mo.; two brothers, George Klever of Santa Ana, Calif., and Charles Klever of Omaha, Nebr.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
