Bertram A. McGinness, whose death at his home north of Winterset Wednesday, Oct. 1, was reported in the Madisonian last week, had been a resident of Madison county for 65 years.

A native of Ogle county, Ill., where he was born Feb. 4, 1873, he was the son of William and Sarah McGinness. He was 74 years of age at the time of his death.

He came to Madison county in 1882, settling on the farm north of Winterset where he spent the remainder of his life, and where his death occurred.
