Andy McLees and wife, of Davenport, and Jim McLees and daughter, of Valley Junction, came this morning to attend the funeral of Mrs. Andrew McLees.

Miss Sarah J. McKinney was born in County of Antrim, Ireland, May 1819. She came to America and located in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1844. She was married to Andrew McLees in 1847 and came to Richmond, Ohio, in the spring of 1850 and engaged in farming near that place. In the spring of 1854 they came to Iowa and settles in Crawford township, Madison county, and she has lived the remainder of her life in this county and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. B. Hunter on March 12, 1910. Six children survive her. John L., of Lincoln township; Wm. F., of Sheldon, N. Da.; Andrew, of Sanborn, N. Da.; Mrs. L. C. Houk, of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Michael Gamble, of Crawford township and Mrs. T. B. Hunter, of Winterset.
She became a member of the Coventer church in Philadelphia, Pa., united with the United Presbyterian church in Ohio and remained a member of that all through her life. Devoted to her church, faithful in the discharge of her duties, her Bible was her daily companion and she was always interested in the great work. Her disposition was cheerful and she was happy and contented and was beloved by all who knew her. Besides children she leaves 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren to mourn her loss.
The funeral occurred today at 11 o’clock from the United Presbyterian church conducted by her pastor, Rev. T. V. Dugan, and interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
