CHARLES REUBEN DRISCOLL

Charles Reuben Driscoll was born Sept. 7, 1878 in Knox County, Illinois. His death occurred Jan. 16, 1914 at his home near Van Meter, Iowa, age 34 years, 4 months, 9 days.

In 1885, he moved with his parents to Kansas, and in 1889 from there to Madison county, Iowa where he has since resided, with the exception of three years spent in Mahaska county, Iowa. He was married Feb. 24, 1904 to Bessie McKanna. To them were born two children, Ethel and Mildred, aged eight and six years. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, a wife, two children, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Driscoll and two sisters,s Mrs. Etta Perkins and Miss Vesta Driscoll of Osage, Iowa; three brothers, Alva, Carl and Leslie, of Booneville, Iowa.

The funeral service was held at Union Chapel Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. An unusually large number were in attendance, not half of whom could be accommodated in the church. The saddest scene of all, perhaps, was when the two little fatherless girls of whom he was exceedingly fond looked for the last time upon their father's face. Their piteous sobs moved the great audience to tears.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. R. Raber, pastor of the United Brethren church.

Note: Burial was in the Union Chapel North cemetery adjoining the church.
