A. H. McDaniel, who has lived here for many years, passed away on last Tuesday night. His death was caused by pneumonia. He was only sick about three weeks. He was nearly 70 years old. He served three years in the Civil War.

He leaves nine children to mourn his loss, all of whom were present at the funeral, except L. N. McDaniel of North Dakota. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Thursday conducted by Rev. Williams.

Obituary

Allen Harrison McDaniel was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, March 10, 1844, and died January 6, 1914, at 10:30 p. m. retaining consciousness until the very last.

He moved to Madison county, Ia., in 1852. He enlisted in Co. H., 23d Iowa Infantry on July 22d, 1862.

He was joined in marriage to Miss Jane Lull, of Madison county, Iowa, May 17, 1866, and to this union eleven children were born, six sons and five daughters, two of the children having preceded him. The mother died February 2d, 1906.

Mr. Mc Daniel’s illness lasted three weeks and was borne without complaint. He leaves to mourn his loss nine children, all of whom were present at the funeral except one son, and several grandchildren besides numerous other relatives and friends.
