The funeral of Isaac Piper, an old time resident of Penn township, but of late years, making his home in Des Moines, was held at Dexter on Thursday morning, and burial at Penn Center.

Isaac Piper, one of the early settlers of Penn township, died on Tuesday of last week at the Methodist hospital, where he had gone for an operation a few days precious. Mr. Piper was seventy seven years of age. He moved to Penn township in 1875 and continued to reside there until a year or two ago, when he sold his splendid farm and moved to Dexter.
