Samuel Glen Brown, 67, of Patterson died April 15, 2010, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 19, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. John Shaull officiating. Burial was at Union Chapel Cemetery, Madison County. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.
Sam Brown was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Winterset to Arthur and Sarah (Overturf) Brown. A lifetime resident of Patterson, Sam was the flag hanger for the city of Patterson for 30 years and also coached the Patterson Playboys softball team.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah.
He is survived by his parents, Art and Lucille Brown of Patterson; siblings — Dennis Dean Brown of Creston and Diana Donham and Gary Brown, both of Winterset; stepbrothers, Jim Garrett of Indianola and Gary Garrett of Peru; and stepsister, DeLynn Beverlin of Des Moines.

Sam Brown, 67, died Thursday, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m.Monday, April 19, at McCalley - Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Burial will be in the Union Chapel Cemetery.
Sam is survived by his parents, Art & Lucille Brown of Patterson; siblings, Dennis Dean Brown of Creston, Diana Donham of Winterset, Gary (Pam) Brown of Winterset; stepbrothers, Jim (Cathy) Garrett of Indianola and Gary (Deana) Garrett of Peru; and stepsister, DeLynn (Rick) Beverlin of
Des Moines.Visitation will be today from noon to 8 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.
