MARY E. SHULTZ

Mary E. Hobson was born in Washington county, Indiana, May 16, 1856 and died at her home in Winterset, May 12, 1917, being 61 years, 11 months and 26 days of age. September 2, 1875, she was united in marriage to George R. Chick. To this union were born eight children, all of whom are still living.

In 1912 she was united in marriage to Julius Shultz who mourns her loss. Two sisters and three brothers also share in the sorrow of this hour.

In her early life, Mrs. Shultz united with the Methodist church, remaining a member of that church until after her first marriage, when with her husband, she joined the Baptist church in Kansas. When she came to Winterset she joined the Baptist church and remained a consistent Christian, expressing herself as ready to go whenever called, and so she peacefully fell asleep in Jesus.

The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Donovan and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
