Mr. John Foreman, an old gentleman 68 years of age, died Tuesday at his home north of the depot. Mr. Foreman was an old and highly respected citizen of Madison county, living a number of years near Truro. He had only been a resident of Winterset since last January.
The funeral will occur tomorrow (Friday) at 2 p.m. from the house and interment will be made in the Rock City cemetery.

John H. Foreman was born in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, April 25, 1842, and passed away at his home in Winterset, Ia., March 23, 1909, at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 28 days.
He came to Madison county, Ia., at the age of 17 years. He was united in marriage to Nancy E. Martin Oct. 6, 1862. To this union were born thirteen children, eight boys and five girls, ten of whom survive him. Nine with the mother were present at the funeral. One daughter, Mrs. Mary Sullan, of Redrock, Okla., being unable to be present.
Mr. Foreman was one of the oldest pioneers of the county and was highly respected by all who knew him, and the bereaved family have the sympathy of the many friends. The funeral occurred from the home on Friday and interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
