RAY FOWLER Services Held Last Saturday

Funeral services for Ray E. Fowler, 79, were held last Saturday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. From the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

Mr. Fowler died Wednesday November 22, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A son of Joseph William and Eliza Melvina Allbee Fowler, he was born May 23, 1899 at Malcom, Iowa. On June 23, 1917, he was married to Algena Brown. They moved to Winterset 40 years ago from Boone, Iowa.

Mr. Fowler owned and operated a creamery and butter manufacturing plant in Winterset until 1948. He also engaged in farming. His farms were cited a number of times for outstanding soil conservation practices. Mr. Fowler was a former member of the Winterset Utilities board of trustees.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge and Shrine.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. George) Montross of Winterset and Beverly (Mrs. Donn) Klingman of LaGrange, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Gus Otcheck of Grinnell, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; in 1974; an infant daughter, Rae Jean; a brother, Wever; two sisters, Ruth and Theda.

Officiating at the funeral Saturday, November 25 was the Rev. Alan Parker. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery with Masonic rites.
