St. Charles -

Word was received here last Friday of the death of Earnest Blair, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Blair, Sr.

Mr. & Mrs. Blair formerly lived here but of near Scotch Ridge. Mr. Blair is a brother of Mrs. Sarah Nicholl of this place and Mrs. Blair is a sister of Mrs. C. C. Carman, also of this place.

Earnest was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Blair, was about 21 years old.

He was taken to Iowa City where we understand that he was operated on three times and the last time he went through the operation alright, but died March 31st from the effects of the trouble.

His remains were brought back here for burial April 3rd. Funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian church and the remains were laid in the St. Charles cemetery west of town.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Sam Carson Blair of Little York, Illinois and Bob Picken of Davis City.
