Sunday, September 29, 2002Chet Leeper, 69, of Ventura, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Community Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. He was a 42-year county resident, coming from Colorado.
Chet was born on Nov. 20, 1932, in Winterset, Iowa, to Jesse and Mable Leeper. Chet owned and operated C&J Tool and Engineering Inc. in Ventura for 22 years. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. Chet was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Walter Chaffee Post No. 1679, Ventura. Chet loved fishing and hunting.
His family and friends will miss him deeply.
Chet is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Doug Thomas, of Ventura; daughter Margie Frazee, of Ventura; sister and brother-in-law June and Joe Miller, of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Christina Leeper, of Santa Paula, Randy Frazee, of Etna, Calif., John Frazee, James Frazee and Mary Ellen Frazee, all of Ventura; great-grandchildren Joel Garcia and Josette Frazee; and ex-wife and companion, Jeanine Stellwagen, of Ventura.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura. Chapel services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Kaas of the Light and Life Christian Fellowship Ventura officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colo. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura
