Stanley S. Wauchope Jr., 85, of Carlsbad died Monday. He was born in Winterset, Iowa, and was a principal with the Los Angeles school district. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Wauchope; son, Denis Wauchope; sister, Margaret Florence; and three grandchildren.

A scattering of ashes in the sea has been planned.
