Richard H. 'Dick' Dahnke, 78, Lincoln, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002. Born, Winterset, Iowa, Feb. 13, 1924 to Fredrick and Carrie (Henry) Dahnke. Army veteran, World War II. Employed, Burlington Northern Railroad, 30-plus years. Member, Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors: sons, daughters-in-law, Rick and Bonnie, Washington, D.C., Scott and Deb, Omaha; daughter, friend, Candi Sapp and Donnie Sabata, Garland; granddaughters, Kelli Finke, Lincoln, Anna Dahnke, Omaha; great-grandchildren, Seth and Jordan Sapp, Haylee Finke; brother, sister-in-law, Ronald and Sara Dahnke, Blackstock, S.C.; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife, Edna; grandson, Thomas Sapp, Jr.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. The Rev. Mark Rosenau. Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Monday; 9 a.m. - 9 p.m Tuesday; 9 a.m. until services Wednesday, at funeral home. Memorials to American Lung Association of Nebraska, Suite 303, 7107 Newport Ave., Omaha 68152.
