Phyllis Marie Veline, 81, of York died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Omaha.

She was born March 29, 1920, in Winterset, Iowa, to Ryman and Meriam (Baur) Smith. Phyllis married Roderick T. "Jack" Veline on Oct. 6, 1940, in Ames, Iowa. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Karla (Max) Ronne of Henderson; her son, Jim (April) Veline of Omaha; six grandchildren, Greg, Marc (Judy) and Ross (Michelle) Ronne, and Ronda, Jody and Brandy Bowden; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fran Ohrvall of Independence, Mo., and Esther Schmidt of Kankakee, Ill.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband "Jack" in 1996, and daughter, Sandra Bowden.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at Metz Chapel in York with the Rev. Ralph Ford officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be given in care of the family. Visitation for the public will be Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m., at Metz Mortuary in York which is in charge of arrangements.
