MASON CITY - Donald C. Simpson, 83, of Mason City, formerly of Pleasant Plain, Iowa, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

He was born March 18, 1917, in Winterset, Iowa. He married Constance Andreasen; she preceded him in death in 1975. He later married Helen Lockenour.

Mr. Simpson was an operating engineer for Local 150 in Chicago and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II . He was a member of the Brighton United Church in Brighton, Iowa.

Survivors: a daughter, Barbara (husband, Robert) Bennett of Worth; three grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Simpson of Oak Lawn.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Graveside services will take place at a later date in Beaver Dam, Wis.

Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.

Born March 18, 1917, in Winterset, Iowa, he married Constance Andreasen. She died in 1975. He later married Helen Lockenour. She survives in Pleasant Plain, Iowa.

Also surviving are one daughter, Barbara (and Robert) Bennett of Worth; one brother, Robert of Oak Lawn; and three grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He worked out of Operating Engineers Local 150 in Chicago. He was a member of Brighton United Church in Brighton, Iowa.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be in Beaver Dam, Wis., at a later date. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of local arrangements.
