Christopher Harrison, 48, of Winterset died March 13, 2010, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Winterset.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, March 17) at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. Burial was at Moon Cemetery in rural Macksburg. Memorials in Chris’ name may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa.
Chris Harrison was born Dec. 23, 1961, in Des Moines to Clair and Patricia (Jenkins) Harrison. He grew up in Winterset, graduating from Winterset High School in 1980. His marriage to Barbara Wambsgans took place July 3, 1982, at the Madison County Courthouse in Winterset. During his career, Chris worked as a security guard, most recently providing security work for Neighborhood Patrol Inc. (NPI) based in Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Harvey Harrison.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Winterset; his mother, Pat Harrison of Winterset; a stepdaughter, Tammy Mead of Winterset; two stepsons, Rodney Welsher of Des Moines and Joel Welsher of Boone; a brother, Juan Harrison of DeSoto; two half brothers, Bill Harrison and Don Harrison; and nine grandchildren.

Chris Harrison 48, died March 13, 2010, at the Westbridge Care Center in Winterset.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare of Winterset, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Ochiltree Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Moon Cemetery, Macksburg. Memorials in Chris' name may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa.
Chris is survived by his wife, Barbara (Wambsgans) Harrison; his mother, Pat Harrison; a step-daughter, Tammy Mead and husband, Steve all of Winterset; two step-sons, Rodney Welsher and wife, Cindy of Des Moines; Joel Welsher and wife, Teresa of Boone; a brother, Juan Harrison and wife, Jamie of DeSoto; two half-brothers, Bill Harrison and wife, Virginia and Don Harrison; nine grandchildren (Kathleen, Jeanell, Jasmine, Mitchell, Peter, Jack, Anna, Daniel and Laura).
