Mrs. Mary G. Fife

Mrs. Mary Gilleland Fife was born in Winterset, July 9, 1869 and died near her home in Pitzer, March 13, 1917. She was the daughter of the late David Gilleland and her mother was a resident of Des Moines.

Mrs. Fife was a member of the Methodist church in girlhood, but for the past fifteen years a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church.

She made a large acquaintance during a long service as telephone operator at Pitzer.

Her marriage to David O. Fife took place February 7, 1888, his death occurring May 20, 1911.

Besides her mother, the remainder of her family, a sister, Mrs. Vincent of Des Moines, and three brothers, G. W. O. H. and Fred, of Winterset. Seven children also survive their mother, Mrs. Clifford Devault, Mrs. Walter Cameron, Clarence, Bervin, Kenneth, Lorraine and Nettie at home.

Burial services were held at Pitzer, Thursday morning, March 15th, at 11 o'clock, with Rev. W. J. Stewart conducting, followed by interment in Worthington cemetery.
