Rites For Carroll Phillips

Funeral services were held last Friday for Carroll A. Phillips, of Truro, who died June 11 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. He was 72 years of age.

Carroll A. Phillips was born February 14, 1902, the son of Chester A. and Camella Moore Phillips. He was educated in the Truro school system and married Leta Elizabeth Cooper February 22, 1923 in Truro.

Mr. Phillips was a retired farmer, having moved to Truro in 1965.

He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lee Phillips, of Mt. Dora, Florida, and Dean Phillips of Des Moines, and by one daughter, Mrs. Norma Creecy of Midland, Texas. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Andy Lammey of Des Moines, and four brothers, Dana Phillips of Abilene, Kansas, Russell Phillips of Jewell, Iowa, Leland of Webster City, Iowa and Paul Phillips of Peru.

He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and son, Loren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 14 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, with the Rev. Richard Hempentis officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Truro.
