Previous to her marriage she lived in Litchfield or vicinity and after marriage she went to Boston, Mass., where she lived until 1875 when she came to Winterset after arriving here July 3, 1875.
Before coming here she was a member of the Congregational Methodist church, but after coming here she and her family became members of Methodist church, where she for years was an active member working in the aid and missionary societies.
For a number of years her health has been very poorly and she was unable to attend church or any social function.
She was a very devoted wife and mother making much of her home. "Others may love you, but only your mother understands, she loves and forgives and we only realize her blessfulness when she is called away."
The funeral services were conducted from the home by Rev. Jackson Giddens, the pastor, on Friday afternoon after which the remains were laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
