C.V. Brown died Saturday night from the effects of the accident which befell hi as noted in last week's paper. He never regained the power of speech and was not fully conscious at any time. He apparently suffered but little and the transition from life to death was as peaceful as falling to sleep. the funeral was held from Friends church Monday afternoon under the auspices of the I.O.O.F. of which he was an honored member. Re. J.W. Stribing, assisted by Rev. J.J. Ehrstein, conducted the service. Interment was in Earlham cemetery.
Chas. Vernon Brown was born in Dallas county, Iowa, February 26, 1874. He was married to Miss Josie Benson on December 2, 1896. To this union was born two children, Clare E. and Nellie E. Clare E. preceded his father to the better land six years ago.
Deceased had been afflicted for a number of year with an incurable disease, and while his family and friends will miss him greatly they would not wish him back to suffer as he has in the past.
He leaves a father, mother, four sisters, one brother and many friends.
