Sherman D. Blankenship Louisiana Jan. 16, 1939 - May 9, 2002

Louisiana - Sherman Dean Blankenship, 63, of Louisiana, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Perry.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, at the First Christian Church in Louisiana. The Rev. Al Boatman will officiate.

Burial will be at the St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles, Iowa. The Sterne Funeral Home in Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Blankenship was born Jan. 16, 1939 to Lawerence W. and Lucille Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship was a registered pharmacist.

Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Blankenship; one son, Lawerence Blankenship and wife, Ann, of Webster City, Iowa; two daughters, Peg Lake, and husband, Tim, of Sturgeon, and Ruth Blankenship of the home; one brother, Dennis Blankenship, and wife, Carolyn; one sister, Sharon Roggemann, and husband, Bud; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Roggemann, Mitchell Roggemann, Philip Roggemann, Tim Lake, Bud Roggemann and David Sterne.

Sherman Dean Blankenship, 63, of Louisiana, Mo., died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Perry.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, at First Christian Church in Louisiana with the Rev. Al Boatman officiating.

Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterne Funeral Home in Louisiana.

Mr. Blankenship was born Jan. 16, 1939, to Lawrence and Lucille Bell Harmon Blankenship.

He was a registered pharmacist and a member of First Christian Church in Louisiana, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Blankenship; a son, Lawrence Blankenship of Webster City, Iowa; two daughters, Peg Lake of Sturgeon and Ruth Blankenship of Louisiana; a brother, Dennis Blankenship; and a sister, Sharon Roggemann. He was preceded in death by his parents.
