The children remaining are: Chas. Earp of Waukee, Iowa, Otis and Joseph Earp of Booneville, Mrs. Effa Poffenbarger of Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. Lucy Malone, Mrs. Anna Clearwater, and Mrs. Myrtle Brooker of Van Meter. Twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren survive.
Mrs. Earp joined the Methodist Episcopal church when 12 years of age and was a faithful member until she moved to the North River neighborhood, when she united with the United Brethren church, with which she continued a most devoted member the remainder of her life.
Note: Melvina and her second husband, Francis Marion lived in Madison County for many years.
